SUBJECT: PRIVACY POLICY
I. POLICY STATEMENT:
- Cooperative Employees Credit Union will collect only the personal information that is necessary to conduct business. That means only information necessary to provide competitive financial products and services.
II. PROCEDURES AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Cooperative Employees Credit Union will maintain strong security controls to ensure that member information is protected.
- Use of security-coding techniques to protect against unauthorized access to personal records, ensure accuracy and integrity of communications and transactions, and protect member confidentiality.
- Cooperative Employees Credit Union Members have the opportunity to review personal information and make necessary changes to ensure that records are complete and accurate.
- Cooperative Employees Credit Union will only share information to administer the products and services provided, when required to do so by the government, or when partnered with other businesses to offer a broader array of products and services.
- Cooperative Employees Credit Union will partner only with businesses that follow strict confidentially requirements. The businesses selected will offer products designed to enhance members’ economic well being. Under no circumstances will Cooperative Employees Credit Union personnel authorize these firms to charge member accounts without express consent, and will not sell member information to telemarketing firms.
- The Credit Union will offer member choice in how information is used. Any member of the credit union may elect to keep information from being shared with business partners. Members will be informed on how to exercise choices, and will take all reasonable steps to make sure requests are followed.
